The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) is a recognized intergovernmental organisation that addresses scientific and technical matters in the area of wine and vines, including wine-based drinks, table grapes, raisins, and other related products. The current statute of the OIV making it an international organisation replaces its predecessor statute of the International Office of the Vine and the Wine under the terms of the agreement of April 3, 2001.
The FIVS OIV Committee monitors the activities of the OIV by sending representatives to meetings and soliciting comments from the FIVS membership on OIV Draft Resolutions and submitting them for consideration as appropriate. FIVS holds observer status at the OIV as a non-governmental organisation.
